Venue and travel
CBIC 2017 will take place at the Institute of Computing (IC) of the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The H Niterói Hotel is the most suitable choice as it is a 5-minute walk from the conference venue. It is also close to most of Niterói’s attractions and has an amazing sight over the Guanabara Bay. For more information, check the H Niterói web and instagram.
CBIC 2017 organizers and Hotel H Niterói have established a partnership that provides special rates for conference attendees. In order to have access to the conference’s special rates:
- the participant must use the promotional code number 21080 in the hotel’s reservation system, or

firstname.lastname@example.org the participant must inform the CBIC 2017 conference name to get the special rates.
Important: Bear in mind that the special rates might run out as the conference dates approach.
The two airports of Rio de Janeiro, the Rio de Janeiro–Galeão International Airport (GIG) and the Santos Dumont Airport (SDU), are the best options. From there, the simplest solution is to take a taxi to Niterói (approx. R$ 100.00). Alternatively, bus 760D links the airport and Niterói.
The ferry between Rio and Niterói is a pleasant and affordable trip. It takes between 10 and 20 minutes to cross the bay, and departs from the terminal at “Praça XV” in downtown Rio de Janeiro.
By car or bus
From Rio de Janeiro you just drive through the longest bridge in Brazil, the Ponte Rio-Niterói; just like the name says it connects both cities. It is 13 km (8 mi) in length and there is a toll of R$ 4,90 (you pay 1 way only, coming from Rio). Buses from Rio, lines 771, 770, 100 and others.
If you are coming from Búzios or Cabo Frio you take the highway called “Via-lagos”.
If you are attending CBIC from outside Brazil, before organizing your trip check if you need a Brazilian visa on the Foreign Ministry web.
